Perfume bottles are elegant and sophisticated in design and are more than just containers. When marketing works on association to stimulate more than one sense, it creates visual shapes that convey the idea of what the scent is perceived to be. Some of these products have such an efficient design that they are no longer featureless and have caught the attention of the public.

✴Les Parfums. a Louis Vuitton collection inspired by travel and signed by Australian designer Mark Newson. It includes simple products with a wide range of colors, from desert sand to stormy gray to beige cashmere and blue-green. The cap is engraved with the cold galvanized metal initials LV.

✴KKW Body. Italian contemporary artist Vanessa Beecroft recreated the body model of Kim Kardashian to launch the famous star's personal fragrance. It is a tribute to femininity, reminiscent of Milo's Venus on the one hand, and curved Paleolithic sculptures on the other.

✴Dot. This bottle comes from Japanese fashion designer Rei Kawakubo's personal passion for osmanthus white flowers, which contains the Comme des Garçons scent.

✴Black Orchid. Designed by stylist and director Tom Ford, Lalique's version of Black Orchid offers an intense blend of jasmine, gardenia, lemon and bergamot. The bottle is meticulously sculpted by the renowned glass art company founded by René Lalique.

✴Totem. This violet-colored glass bottle for Kenzo recalls the shape of a small Native American totem, as it wishes to convey the typical tribal membership of young people through a primitive and integral design.

✴ Soft Tension. Based on the idea of Icelandic Andrea Maack, its scent and shape are inspired by the arid landscapes of Northern Europe. Freesia and musk notes evoke a mysterious mist with a minimalist design.

✴Essence. turns the bottle into an enduring work of art: why not? This was Ross Lovegrove's vision for Narciso Rodriguez. His stylistic choices impress you with their lines and the mirrored effect inside, which is a bit conceptual.

The perfume wheel is a very useful tool for sorting and perfume compositions. Different perfumes can share common characteristics that link them to a specific olfactory family. According to this model, there are four main categories: floral, oriental, fresh and woody fragrances. Each of these is divided into sub-categories, so that in total there are 14 olfactory families, each with a different specific note. Some of the officially recognized families are.

1. Floral. these scents can be extracted from a single flower or a bunch of different flowers. The most commonly used flowers are rose, jasmine and lily, as well as iris, rhododendron and ylang-ylang.

2. Woody. they are warm and strong fragrances, designed primarily for men (women's fragrances often combine woody notes with citrus or floral notes) and smell of dry woods or cork, such as cedar, vetiver and sandalwood.

3. Oriental or amber, with patchouli, vanilla, musk, spice and amber. It includes charming and sensual fragrances for both men and women that evoke exotic and oriental ambiance.

4. Citrusy or hesperidic, made of Mediterranean fragrances such as lemon, bergamot, mandarin, cedar, orange, lime and grapefruit.
