The choice of cosmetic packaging is related to its ingredients

In recent years, merchants have put more and more effort into cosmetic packaging, and all kinds of novel and exquisite packaging have emerged one after another. Common cosmetic packaging

1. Glass bottle

Glass bottles are mainly used for creams, ointments, lotions, essences, essential oils and other small-volume products in skin care products. From the type of bottle mouth, glass bottles can be divided into wide mouth bottles and narrow mouth bottles. Wide-mouth bottles are mostly used for solid creams such as creams and smear-type masks, while narrow-mouth bottles are generally used for liquids and lotions. Glass bottles are generally used with caps, pump heads, or with droppers to keep them clean. The glass bottle body can be frosted, sprayed or screen printed.

The advantage of glass bottle is that it is low in cost, but the disadvantage is that it is heavy and easy to break. Generally, perfume products prefer to use glass bottles to better prevent the liquid from volatilizing and maintain the smell of perfume.

2. Plastic bottles

There are various materials for plastic bottles, including ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene), PP (polypropylene), PE (polyethylene), PET (polyethylene terephthalate), AS (benzene ethylene-acrylonitrile copolymer) and acrylic etc. Among them, PP, PE and PET are all environmentally friendly materials, which can be directly contacted with the contents. PP and PE are translucent and white in nature, and can be made into various hardnesses; while PET is transparent, light in weight and soft in material.

3. Plastic hose

There are single-layer, double-layer and five-layer hoses according to the number of layers. According to the material, there are plastic pipes and metal pipes. The most common is plastic hoses, which is the packaging used by ordinary facial cleansers. PE plastics are generally used. The tube packaging has good airtightness, which can block the infiltration of outside air and prevent the contents from leaking. Hoses with different layers differ in their permeation resistance. The tube body of the hose can be processed by various processes such as silk screen printing, generally with a rotating cover or a flip cover.

Special ingredients require special packaging

Due to the special ingredients of some cosmetics, special packaging is required to ensure the activity of the ingredients. Dark glass bottles, vacuum pumps, metal hoses, ampoules are commonly used special packaging.

After the photosensitive ingredients in dark glass bottle cosmetics are oxidized by ultraviolet radiation, they may not only lose their activity and efficacy, but may even cause sensitization and toxicity. For example, ascorbic acid and ferulic acid are prone to photolysis and oxidation, and vitamin A alcohols and their derivatives, furanocoumarins have photosensitivity and phototoxicity. In order to prevent such components from being oxidized by ultraviolet photolysis, the packaging must be protected from light. Generally, dark opaque glass bottles are used as packaging materials, and dark brown glass bottles are the most common. To ensure ease of use and product hygiene, dark glass bottles are often used with droppers.
